Ward Boss 3 was a supporting character in the series pilot "Boardwalk Empire" played by co-star Scott Jaeck. The ward bosses are city council members, also known as Aldermen, in Atlantic City Treasurer Nucky Thompson's political organisation. Each ward is a portion of Atlantic City where votes are totaled on election day. On the eve of prohibition Nucky assembles his organisation for a dinner at Babette's Supper Club and explains that they are about to get in to bootlegging. The group responds with cheers and applause. Nucky tells the ward bosses that they will be responsible for taking orders and collecting payment from restaurants and hotels in their wards. After the dinner the group counts down to midnight and then spends the evening dancing.
