Kari Skogland is a Canadian motion picture director, writer and producer. She is an episode director for Boardwalk Empire. She helmed the third season episode "Blue Bell Boy". She worked with Boardwalk Empire show runner Terence Winter on the earlier series The Sopranos. She has been active since 1994 and has also directed the films White Lies (1998), Liberty Stands Still (2002), The Stone Angel (2007), and Fifty Dead Men Walking (2008).

Biography[]

Skogland started directing award-winning television commercials and music videos. She moved on to television shows with 1994's Dead at 21 and Traders. Traders was nominated for several Geminis including Best Director, and won Best Series.

Her CBC film White Lies (1998) was nominated for several Geminis and an International Emmy and won a Tout Ecran. Her first film, The Size of Watermelons (2000) won the Silver Award at WorldFest Houston. Her film 50 Dead Men Walking (2008) stars Sir Ben Kingsley, Jim Sturgess, and Rose McGowan.
