John Wright, played by Eddie Manley, is a supporting character in Season 2's premiere episode, "21". He is a working class man in Atlantic City.

Just as Atlantic County Treasurer Nucky Thompson finishes a speech in front of a white church congregation regarding a recent shootout between the Ku Klux Klan and Chalky White, promising to protect them "in the face of the obstreperous negro" (and after giving a completely opposite speech in front of a black one), John Wright arrives at the place and announces that KKK member Herman Dacus has died of a neck wound sustained during the fight. Wright's words cause a great commotion among the church members. Nucky orders then his brother Eli Thompson to arrest Chalky for his own safety while he tries to calm the church people. ("21")
